Nomination Form

Every year, the McMaster Humanities Society (MHS) welcomes two First Year students who are elected by their peers, to serve as First Year Representatives on the MHS. For more details about the role or if you’re interested in nominating yourself, download the Nomination Form at the top of the page!

Pre-requisites:

Only full-time, first year, undergraduate Humanities students are permitted to run in the First Year Representative election

Nomination process:

  • Each candidate must obtain the first and last names and student numbers of 15 full-time undergraduate Humanities students to support their nomination.

  • Nominations for First Year Representatives will be accepted from Thursday, September 17th until Friday, September 25th @ 11:59 PM!

  • Once completed, please email to Nomination form to mhs.vpadministration@gmail.com

  • All applicants will be invited to complete a When2Meet to schedule the mandatory All-Candidates Meeting (ACM) after they email their completed form. During this meeting, students will learn more about campaigning and election protocols. 

  • All candidates will receive confirmation of the ACM date/time via email between September 28th and October 1st.

Tentatively, the timeline for the Election Period is as follows:

  • Nominations accepted from Thursday, September 17th until Friday, September 25th @ 11:59 PM

  • Mandatory All-Candidates Meeting (ACM) will take place between Monday, September 28th and Thursday, October 1st. 

  • Campaign period will take place from Friday, October 2nd to Tuesday, October 6th @ 11:59 PM. 

  • Voting period will take place from Wednesday, October 7th @ 12:00 AM to Friday, October 9th @ 11:59 PM
